Athena - Embedded app guide


How can I access OutcomeMD's embedded app?

  • In order for clients to use the embedded app, they will need to enable it in their tablespace.
    1. If the client is not the Account Owner, then they must contact this individual to complete the following steps. 
  • To do so they will need to:
    1. Login to athenaOne go to the Gear 
    2. Go to Practice Manager
    3. Go to Embedded app user subscriptions. 
      • On this page, they can either:
        • enable all users at the practice to use the embedded app
        • subscribe only certain ones as needed.
    4. Have client inform you once it is enabled on their side.
  • Once enabled, then submit a ticket to Athenahealth (Support > Manage Cases > Create Case > Additional Services & Support > Embedded App) to enable the app. 
    1. Include the following in your ticket:
    2. Hi, can you please activate the embedded app for the following client:
      • Practice id:
      • Department id(s):

Where does the embedded app apear within Athena?

The Embedded App will be present in 3 locations within athenahealth:

  • Location: Apps Tab (associated with patient)
  • Location: App Dock (not associated with patient)
  • Location: Encounter Card (associated with patient)
